Incentives

Incentives have always been a great source of motivation for students that encourage talented students to work harder and to attain good positions. Students who achieve good positions are a symbol of pride for their alma-mater. No wonder if a student secures first position in Board (ICS/F.Sc) and is awarded a brand new Motorcar and free higher education at PGCs.

  • Students showing outstanding performance in matriculation examination can enjoy free education at PCS.
  • College grants fee-concession (within due time) for deserving students at the time of admission. It is not once and for all. Students, benefiting from this assistance, must get their concession forms duly attested by the Principal at the time of every fee-installment. However, the request application for fee concession must be submitted within the time frame given by the college. Applications received after the lapse of that time period will not the entertained.
  • Students enjoy attendance awards and distinction certificates ‘for their punctuality and outstanding performance in different disciplines.
  • Students can have kinship and old student concessions within due time of every installment and as per rules.
  • Students are encouraged to participate in sports and co-curricular activities. They can win different medals, shields and cash prizes. Quiz Competitions, Singing Competitions and Debating Contests are regular features of the college.

Air-Conditioned Classrooms

All classrooms are air-conditioned that provide a pleasant learning environment, enabling the students to concentrate on their studies in comfort.


Effective Audio-Visual Aids

All classrooms are fully equipped with multimedia systems. This Promotes effective communication to expedite the class-work for the teacher and the students.

Liaison with Parents


The attendance of the students is monitored on daily basis. Parents are also kept informed about their ward's application and are warned against irregular attendance or unseemly behavior. Thus it has been possible in initiating Remedial action regarding irregular and erratic students.

Monthly Tests / Send up:

To assess the learning ability of the students on monthly basis, PCS / PCW has a very disciplined and regular system of monthly tests. The results of these tests are promptly dispatched to the parents. Similarly, Send up exams are the most momentous academic activity of the session. Through these exams the students get an idea of the board exams and thus prepare themselves for it.

Quiz Programmes

Quiz programmes are an integral part of the academic session of the college. They aim at providing entertainment and education to the students at the same time because the questions asked in these programmes are set from the syllabus. These programmes assist students so much in preparation of exams that most of the board toppers are former quiz winners. Many eminent educationists and scholars are invited in these programmes as guests of honour in order to share their experience with the future generation.

Cultural Festivals

To revive our cultural norms in the era of prevailing foreign influence, the college plays its part by organizing cultural festivals every year. The trademark features of these festivals include different sports events, stalls, regional dresses’ competitions and various other cultural and entertaining activities.


Sports

The students of Punjab College excel in co-curricular and extra curricular activities alike in the Annual Sports Day of the College. Students compete for badminton, cricket, cycling, shot put, athletics, tug of war, etc. The day starts with a colourful and disciplined march past of the participating houses and ends with a ceremonious prize distribution. Such activities inculcate discipline and sportsmanship in the students so much so that they ultimately win the general trophies of the board and the university every year.

Mehfil- e - Milad:

The life of our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) has always been a beacon of light for the humanity. In order to pay homage to the Holy Prophet (PBUH), PCW organizes a Mehfil- e- Milad every year during the last decade of Ramadan. Students of the college glorify the greatness of the life and the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) in their passionate voices. This sacred gathering is so well arranged that it is telecast on several private TV channels afterwards.

Annual Mushaira:

Annual Mushaira is yet another co-curricular event aimed at enhancing and applauding the creative literary spirit of the youth. Students feel elevated when they get an opportunity to recite their poetic effort before the prominent literary figutres of the country. Distinguished poets like Ahmad Faraz, Anwer Masood, Amjad Islam Amjad, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, Atta ul Haq Qasmi, Saad Ullah Shah, Farhat Abbas Shah and other literary figures of the country often adorn the mushaira evenings with their charismatic presence.

Musical Concerts:

Musical concerts are like whiffs of fresh breeze that break the tiresome and hectic routine of studies at the college. Both students and teachers enjoy such musical evenings a lot. Many heartthrob singers and bands of the nation like Atif Aslam, Ibrar ul Haq, Junoon, Najam Sheraz and Faakhir amuse the audience off and on with their memorable performance. 

 

Dramatic Club

Punjab College of Science Dramatic Club plays a pivotal role in the promotion of extra-curricular pursuits. In a tension-ridden society like ours where there are few opportunities of widening the mental horizons or building the character of students. PCSDC provides entertainment by displaying various themes ranging from classical plays to modern comedies. It helps in acquiring the art of living with dual benefits of entertainment and education.

   


Tours

Recreational trips to Murree, Kallar Kahaar, Swat and Kaghan are the most awaited entertaining events in the college life of the students at PCS / PCW. During these trips the college arranges for the students sumptuous dinners, exciting bonfires and opportunities to refresh themselves for further studies.


College Magazine


The College encourages self-expression through Magazine, with Urdu and English sections. 'The Magazine' welcomes those genuine contributors who possess a special flair for writing. PCS young minds provide an interesting panorama of views on diverse issues, ranging from social stagnation to intellectual upheaval. By doing so, they develop confidence and a sense of awareness about unexplored territories of the world and human psyche. Backed by a creative editor, 'The Magazine' is largely operated by a number of co-editors, from among the student quarters. The College Magazine also echoes the academic accomplishments and sports successes in Board and University, thus keeping the Punjabians informed of the latest news.

Debates

The Literary Society of the College organizes debate competitions every year on burning issues in order to polish the communication skills and confidence of the students. Judges are the celebrities from different walks of life.



College Bookshop


All campuses of PCS have book-shops which stock the books recommended by course-tutors. Stationery items are also available at competitive rates. Keeping in view the ever-increasing demand for notes, photo-copy services are available at every campus.

College Cafe


The College Cafe at every campus provides a refreshing respite from the rigorous routine with a wide range of eatables and drinks at competitive rates.

Student Counseling Service

Student life can be rewarding and stimulating but can also have Its share of stress. Students who are preoccupied with personal worries may find it hard to concentrate on their studies and may feel isolated and insecure. The Counseling Service offers support and constructive help when the going gets tough. Trained and experienced counseling staff is always available for help.

College Identity Card


Each student is issued a separate identity card and it is compulsory for a student to keep the card available at all times.

College Transport Facility


The college provides transport facility for its students on different routes. For this purpose they have to get themselves registered at the transport office.
